2021 Missing in Colorado Virtual Event

An early morning stabbing left one person dead and a juvenile in custody in Bayfield, Colorado on August 2, 2021.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) earned two prestigious reaccreditations by international organizations in July 2021.
Following an extensive investigation, seven (7) people were arrested on July 8, 2021, in connection with the alleged kidnapping, torture and attempted murder of a Rocky Ford woman.
It is believed the following suspects were involved in the incident that occurred in a Rocky Ford apartment in August of 2017:
Idaho Springs Police Officer Nicholas Hanning was charged in connection with his involvement in response to a disturbance in the 3200 block of Riverside Drive in Idaho Springs, just before 11:00 p.m. on May 30, 2021.

Agents with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation were requested to investigate this case, which culminated with charges being filed.
On Tuesday, May 25, 2021, members of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) virtually recognized three, 5th grade students for their winning entries as part of the National Missing Children’s Day poster contest.
CBI Director John Camper and others presented the first-place award to 5th grade student Paul Irvine, from Stone Creek Charter School in Gypsum, Colorado, who won Colorado’s poster contest in recognition of National Missing Children’s Day on May 25.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the homicide of a La Junta man occurring around 6:30 p.m., on Friday, May 14, 2021.
Matthew Perez (DOB: 10/07/1982) Garden City, Kansas, faces charges of First Degree Murder, and Nikki Olivas (DOB: 01/24/1989) Garden City, Kansas, faces charges of Accessory to First Degree Murder in connection to the homicide of Ernesto Apodaca DOB 05/20/1972. Apodaca was shot inside of his vehicle parked in front of his apartment building located in the 600 block of Sunrise Avenue in the Morningside Heights neighborhood Friday evening.
The La Junta Police Department and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) are conducting a criminal investigation involving a homicide that occurred at 1510 East Sixth Street in the Morningside Heights neighborhood on Friday, May 14, 2021.
The victim, a 48-year-old La Junta man, was shot inside of his vehicle parked in front of his apartment building by a white or Hispanic male, possibly in his 30’s. The name of the victim is not being released at this time.
