Crime Scene Investigation

The goal of the crime scene response and investigation unit is to identify, document, and preserve physical evidence that will yield information, aid in the investigation and, perhaps, reconstruct the actions or events that occurred within the crime scene. It is not the goal of the response to prove the guilt or innocence of a particular subject.  CBI Crime Scene Unit (CSU) personnel have specialized knowledge and training in evidence identification, documentation, and preservation techniques.
