Establishing New Account for Fingerprint Based Searches
Business and government agencies requiring CBI/FBI fingerprint based Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) must establish an account with the CBI to receive the CHRI in a secure manner through the Secure Document Delivery System (SDDS). Please complete the following application packet:

Volunteer and Employee Criminal History Service (VECHS)
To qualify for the VECHS program, complete the following forms and submit to the CBI for processing. Please see Biometric Identification and Records Unit FAQs for VECHS Rules and qualifiers.
A "Certificate of Good Standing" is required from the Colorado Secretary of State's office. Enter the business name or ID and the certificate will be available to printing. Please include a copy of the certificate with the VECHS Application.
Private Security Officer
In addition to completing the New Account Application Packet, please review the Private Security Officer Authorization Act and complete the Employer Certification Statement below:
"According to Title 28, Code of Federal Reguations (CFR), Section 105.23(a), before authorized employers may request a Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) check of a Private Security Officer (PSO) from a participating state, the authorized employer must provide the participating state (Colorado) with an executed certification, developed by the State Identification Bureau or relavent state agency (the Colorado Bureau of Investigation), for the purpose of processing requests for the CHRI checks under the Private Security Officer Employment Autorization Act of 2004."
