The Saguache County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) continues to investigate an alleged homicide occurring in the town of Villa Grove in Saguache County at approximately 10:30 p.m. on February 23, 2022.

The SCSO received a 911 call reporting a stabbing in the 34100 block of County Rd. LL57 on Wednesday night. Deputies arrived at the home and located Brian Taylor (DOB: 10/14/1980), Moffat, inside the residence with possible stab wounds. Taylor was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has extended the deadline for entries for the Missing Children Poster contest to February 14. The contest is open to 5th grade students across Colorado as part of a national campaign sponsored by the United States Department of Justice (DOJ).

Each year, the US DOJ takes time to commemorate the valiant and unselfish acts of the many organizations and individuals who bring our missing children home. Since 1983, May 25th has been designated as National Missing Children’s Day.

Colorado Missing Persons Day is being honored with a series of events at the state Capitol building (200 E. Colfax Avenue) beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, February 4, 2022. In addition to a Resolution being read at the Capitol, a prayer vigil will honor more than 1,000 individuals currently missing for more than six months in the State of Colorado.

In honor of missing children across the country, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is hosting a coloring contest for Colorado 5^th grade students as part of a national campaign sponsored by the United States Department of Justice (DOJ).

09/19/2021—The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Forensic Services section is honoring the work of forensic scientists, technicians, and support staff assigned to CBI laboratories across Colorado during National Forensic Science Week, September 19-25, 2021.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will virtually host its annual Missing in Colorado event on August 28, 2021.

Families of those missing for more than one year in the state are asked to visit the CBI website and access a number of resources available, as well as obtain the link to join the virtual event beginning at 8:00 a.m. on August 28. Additionally, families of the missing can call to speak with an advocate as well. A team of CBI victim advocates will be answering a dedicated phone line (303-239-4242) from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on August 28.  

The Alamosa woman who went missing in early August was located deceased in the county, transitioning the investigation from a missing person case to a homicide.

Cheyenne Goins (09/17/1999) of Alamosa was reported missing by her family on August 12, 2021.

Based on the investigation by the Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO), with assistance from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Goins’ remains were located in a clandestine grave in a remote area in Alamosa County at Colorado State Highways 160 and 150 on August 21, 2021.

The Alamosa County Sheriff’s Office (ACSO) requested the assistance of the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a missing person case from early August.

Cheyenne Goins (09/17/1999) of Alamosa was reported missing by her family on August 12, 2021. Based on the preliminary information by the Sheriff’s Office and the CBI, both agencies are concerned that foul play may be involved.
