Sex Offender Unit
About the Sex Offender Unit
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) works to protect communities through offender registration, law enforcement training, and fugitive enforcement. Together, these efforts support public safety, assist law enforcement, and keep Coloradans informed.
Fugitive Operations
The Fugitive Operations Unit works with local, state, and federal partners to locate and apprehend violent fugitives and non-compliant sex offenders. The unit also maintains the “Top 100 Most Wanted Sex Offenders” list and a 24-hour tip line.
Registration Unit
CBI manages the Colorado Sex Offender Registry, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. The unit provides resources, registration forms, and guidance to law enforcement and the public.
Law Enforcement Registration Training
Specialized training equips law enforcement, probation, and parole staff with the tools to manage registration and community notification effectively. Classes are offered statewide and supported by grant funding.
