Rocky Ford Shooting Investigation Continues

01/07/2019—The Rocky Ford Police Department (RFPD), with assistance from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), continues to investigate a shooting occurring at a home in Rocky Ford last month.

Rocky Ford police officers were called to a residence in the 1700 block of Swink Avenue, just after 5:00 p.m., on a shooting as a result of a possible accidental discharge of a firearm by a family member that sent Wendy Schneider (DOB: 05/31/1969) to the hospital for medical treatment on December 22, 2018.

Schneider died at the Parkview Medical Center on December 29, 2018.

The RFPD, CBI, and the 16th Judicial District Attorney’s Office are investigating to determine if any charges will be filed moving forward.

The names of other individuals in the home at the time of the shooting are not being released at this time, as this remains an active investigation.
