LEADVILLE, CO - August 13, 2025 - On Monday, August 11, 2025, at approximately noon, the Lake County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a shooting near 19773 Hwy 24 in Leadville. A juvenile male reported being confronted by two other juveniles and was shot once in the arm. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released from a local hospital.
A short time after the incident, Lake County Sheriff's Deputies located and arrested two male juvenile suspects without incident. Both individuals are from the Leadville/Lake County area and have been charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been requested to take the lead on the investigation, with the Lake County Sheriff's Office assisting.
There is no ongoing threat to the community. Due to the involvement of juveniles and the active nature of the investigation, no additional information will be released at this time. Further updates will be provided to the media as they become available.
