04/23/2020—An officer-involved shooting occurred in Baca County in the evening hours of April 22, 2020.
The shooting took place while members of the Baca County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) responded to an armed suspect in the area of County Road 20 and County Road PP just after 5:30 p.m. A male suspect was shot during the incident and was later pronounced deceased. No members of law enforcement were injured.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been requested to investigate the incident. Additional details will be released as soon as they’re available.
