The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been requested by the Rocky Ford Police Department (RFPD) to assist with a death investigation occurring at the McKittrick Manor (806 Catalpa Avenue, Rocky Ford) occurring on October 4, 2020.

On Sunday, members of the RFPD were called to the manor just before 7:00 am on a call of a body located on the grounds of the facility.

The deceased, Gilbert Montoya (DOB: 05/18/56), was a resident of the facility.

Based on the preliminary investigation by CBI agents and members of the RFPD, Mr. Montoya's death does not appear suspicious in nature, however, the Otero County Coroner has yet to make the final ruling in the case, including the results of toxicology testing.

The investigation continues.
