Police Investigating a Suspicious Package in Rocky Ford

In the evening hours of May 31, 2024, the public is being asked to avoid the area of the 900 block of Maple Street in Rocky Ford.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is assisting the Rocky Ford Police Department, Otero County Sheriff's Office and the Colorado State Patrol with a narcotics investigation in the area. Investigators requested the assistance of a regional bomb squad once a suspicious package was discovered during the investigation.

The area remains an active scene, and will be for the next several hours, while investigators continue to work.
