September 19, 2025 – CBI – Wizard Wells, TX – The Jack County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Rangers identified the victim of a homicide which occurred near Wizard Wells, Texas, in 1984 as Roberta “Berta” Mumma. Roberta “Berta” Mumma’s skeletal remains were discovered in a remote area in Jack County over 40 years ago, and her identity remained a mystery until 2024. Roberta “Berta” Mumma was identified using advanced forensic techniques and DNA analysis

September 4, 2025 – CBI – Cañon City, CO – The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is releasing updated information regarding the officer-involved shooting that occurred on Friday, August 29, 2025, in the 1400 block of Chestnut Street in Cañon City.

August 30, 2025 – CBI – La Junta, CO – On August 29, 2025, Agents with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in partnership with the La Junta Police Department, executed a court-authorized search warrant at 1314 San Juan Avenue, La Junta, Colorado.

August 30, 2025 – CBI – Cañon City, CO – The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting with that occurred just after 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, in the 1400 block of Chestnut Street in Cañon City.

PUEBLO, CO – August 26, 2025 – The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is providing an update on the ongoing criminal investigation into Davis Mortuary in Pueblo, following the discovery of improperly stored human remains last week. The investigation, which is being conducted in collaboration with the Pueblo Police Department, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, and the 10th Judicial District Attorney's Office.

August 25, 2025 -CBI- PUEBLO, CO—The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and its public safety partners are  providing an updated press release on the ongoing criminal investigation into the Davis Mortuary, a business owned by Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter. The investigation, led by the CBI with assistance from the Pueblo Police Department, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, The 10th Judicial District Attorney and coroners from El Paso and Fremont counties, began after an unknown number of bodies and cremains were discovered by inspectors from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) on Wednesday, August 20. DORA has since suspended the license of Davis Mortuary.

August 22, 2025 – CBI – Pueblo, CO – Governor Jared Polis and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) along with Pueblo County government and law enforcement partners will hold a press conference today at 1 p.m. to update the investigation into Davis Mortuary.

August  21, 2025 – CBI – Pueblo, CO – The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will hold a press conference today at 3:30 p.m. to discuss the criminal investigation it's been asked to lead into Davis Mortuary.
