January 13 Marks AMBER Alert Awareness Day

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recognizes National AMBER Alert Awareness Day on January 13, 2024, in remembrance of 9-year-old Amber Hagerman who went missing in Texas and was found deceased five days later in 1996.

U.S. Marshals Task Force Safely Recovers 2 Critically Missing Children and Arrest Fugitive Grandmother

A month’s long investigation into the whereabouts of two missing and endangered children believed to have been abducted by their biological grandmother has come to an end with both children recovered safely, and the grandmother arrested.

Hesperus Man Faces Sexual Assault on a Child Charges

A Hesperus man faces two counts of sexual assault on a child in a position of trust based on alleged crimes occurring at his home approximately 10 years ago.

Paul Richardson (DOB:10/04/1961) turned himself in to police and was booked through the La Plata County Jail late Monday.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was requested by the Durango Police Department to investigate the allegations that were reported by two victims who are known to the suspect.  

Cañon City Incident Update

Law enforcement continues to investigate an incident involving an alleged homicide suspect out of Pueblo fleeing the area and into Cañon City in the morning hours of Sunday, January 7, 2024.

CBI Hosts Poster Contest in Honor of Missing Children Deadline: February 9, 2024

In honor of missing children across the country, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is hosting a poster contest for Colorado 5th grade students as part of a national campaign sponsored by the United States Department of Justice (DOJ).

Every year the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) takes time to commemorate the valiant and unselfish acts of the many organizations and individuals who bring our missing children home. Since 1983, May 25th has been designated as National Missing Children’s Day.

Arrests Made in Alleged Sex Assault in Ouray

Three people have been arrested in connection to an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Ouray on May 14, 2023.

At the request of the Ouray County Sheriff’s Office, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) launched a comprehensive investigation involving the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile victim at a home in Ouray earlier this year.

he Park County Sheriff's Office honors and remembers murder victim Maggie Long on the anniversary of her death.  Long, a high school senior from Bailey, Colorado, was found murdered in her home on December 1, 2017.
