CBI Leads Death Investigation in Granby

December 20, 2025 – CBI –  Granby, CO – The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is leading a death investigation in Granby following an incident that occurred earlier today. The Granby Police Department, the Grand County Sheriff’s Office and the Grand County Coroner are all assisting with the investigation.

The victim is a 38-year-old female Granby resident.

Authorities were called to the vicinity of the USDA Forest Service Sulphur Ranger District Office, located at 9 Ten Mile Drive West, around 12:05 p.m. Initial reports from a witness mentioned a disturbance outside the Forest Service office.

The witness observed two males placing a female into a vehicle.

The witness then watched one of the males drive the female victim to Middle Park Health Emergency Room, which is across the street from the Sulphur Ranger District Office.

The female victim was found to have sustained significant injuries and was pronounced deceased at 1:02 p.m.

Investigators, with assistance from the Grand County Coroner's Office, are actively working to determine the cause of death.
