K-9 Search Conducted in Kristal Reisinger Missing Person Case

August 7, 2025 – CBI –  Crestone, CO – The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Saguache County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with Colorado Forensics Canines, completed a targeted search yesterday, August 6, 2025, as part of the ongoing investigation into the 2016 disappearance of Kristal Reisinger.

Four human remains detection dogs were deployed to a specific location in Crestone, Colorado, believed to be connected to the case. Kristal Reisinger was 29 years old when she was last seen on or around July 13, 2016, in the Crestone area. Her disappearance has been a nationally and internationally known case, notably featured on the "Up and Vanished" podcast.

The search operation has been completed. At this time, no further details about the findings are being released as the investigation is active and ongoing.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) continues to seek assistance from the public. Authorities emphasize that no tip, regardless of how insignificant it may seem, will be discounted and tipsters can remain anonymous. The public is urged to come forward with any information related to Kristal Reisinger’s disappearance.
