Remains Identified in Wolf Creek Pass Crash

The Mineral County Coroner’s Office has identified the remains of the woman located at the scene of a crash on Wolf Creek Pass. 


Marlena Rena Mizell (DOB: 03/02/1971) was identified during an autopsy performed on March 1, 2021. According to the Coroner’s Office, the preliminary findings show Mizell died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries. Toxicology results are pending. 

The crash investigation being conducted by the Colorado State Patrol is still considered open and active.  Findings will be available at the conclusion of the investigation. 
Investigators do not believe foul play was involved.
