Deputies with the Costilla County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, are investigating a homicide at the Sangre de Cristo Subdivision at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2022.
Jesus Lozano, (DOB: 08/21/1970), was shot at his home in the 900 block of Wilking Way. He was later pronounced deceased at an Alamosa hospital. Preliminary information is that there may have been a disturbance at the residence between the victim and another person or persons leading up to the shooting. Investigators believe this is an isolated incident, and that the victim and the suspect(s) may be known to one another.
