Deceased Named in Padroni Fire

08/01/2019--The name of the deceased man located inside a burned structure in Logan County has been identified. David Dan Medrano Jr. (DOB 07/31/1976) was found inside a residence in the 23311 Pawnee Street in Padroni, Colorado on Tuesday, July 23, 2019.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) continues to investigate the fire in conjunction with the Logan County Sheriff's Office. There is no additional information to report at this time, as the investigation remains active.

On July 23, 2019 at approximately 0845 hrs, Logan County Deputies, along with the Sterling Fire Dept. and surrounding Volunteer Fire Dept.’s were dispatched to 23311 Pawnee Ave. in Padroni, CO in reference to a structure fire. Upon the arrival of the Sterling Fire Dept., a search team located a deceased male inside the residence. Once the deceased male was located, Arson Investigator Jerry Means and K-9 Riley were requested to the scene, along with the Colorado Bureau of Investigations (CBI). Inv. Means, along with Agents from CBI, and the CBI Crime Lab responded to the scene yesterday afternoon. While it’s too early to know all the facts, this case is being investigated by the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, and we are assisting them in the investigation. We do not believe there is any threat to the community. No other information will be released at this time. If information that can be released becomes available, we will do that.
