Otero County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Suspicious Death
Timpas, Colo. – September 19, 2019 – Deputies from the Otero County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a fire North of Timpas. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a vehicle on fire at the Timpas picnic area. Rocky Ford Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. During the investigation into the fire, a deceased person was located. The cause of death is still under investigation. The cause of the fire is also still under investigation. The deceased person has not been identified at this time. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation and Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control are assisting with this investigation.
