CBI, Marshals Arrest Multiple Fugitives

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Fugitive Unit, in conjunction with the US Marshals Service (USMS), made four arrests of wanted fugitives, including sex offenders with warrants in recent weeks.

Between June 17 and July 6, 2020, CBI agents and USMS deputies contacted and arrested two members of the CBI Top 100 Most Wanted Sex Offender Fugitive List in addition to one fugitive sex offender and one violent fugitive, both from out of state (Nebraska and Tennessee).

Allen Hewitt, age 51, was arrested in Denver at a trailer where he resided, unregistered. Hewitt has been a fugitive since November of 2018 and was number 19 on the Top 100 Most Wanted list. He was charged with failure to register based on his original sex offender conviction of aggravated incest.

Matthew Abrams, age 62, was arrested in Sheridan at a location he was residing, unregistered. He was arrested on charges for failing to register. He was taken to the Sheridan Police Department to register. Abrams was number 34 on the CBI's Top 100 Most Wanted list.
