Three people have been arrested in connection to an alleged sexual assault that occurred in Ouray on May 14, 2023.
At the request of the Ouray County Sheriff’s Office, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) launched a comprehensive investigation involving the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile victim at a home in Ouray earlier this year.
Those arrested include:
- Suspect 1– Sexual Assault (F3)
- Gabriel Trujillo (DOB: 12/09/2003) Sexual Assault (F3)
- Ashton Whittington (DOB: 05/13/2005) Sexual Assault (F3)
Trujillo and Whittington were booked through the Montrose County Jail and are being held on a $60,000 cash/surety bond. The third suspect, who is not being named because the individual was a juvenile at the time of the incident, was arrested in Kansas and will be extradited to Colorado.
Because of the nature of the allegations involving the juvenile victim at the time of the incident, no further information is releasable at this time. Additionally, the arrest warrants are sealed.
This remains an ongoing investigation.
The 7th Judicial District Attorney’s Office is working with the CBI related to this case.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
